Approximately 40,000 tonnes of disposable nappies are dumped in landfill in Northern Ireland every year. That is 100 tonnes every day, or about 4% of the total waste going to landfill. At the same time it is estimated that you can save up to £1,200 per bum by using real nappies and washing them at home. And you can save even more by using them for your second or third child or buying them second-hand.

Formerly known as the Real Nappy Campaign, Go Real is now independently run as a social enterprise, by parents who have had first hand experience bringing children up in real nappies.
